8-Year-Old Finds Tooth Of Long-Extinct Shark Species In Myrtle Beach

(Myrtle Beach, SC) -- A South Carolina company says an eight-year-old boy had the "find of a lifetime." Riley Gracely of Pennsylvania stopped by the Palmetto Fossil Excursions fossil hunt with his family while on vacation in Myrtle Beach earlier this month and found a tooth belonging to a long gone shark species. While walking along the gravel and dirt piles, he noticed what appeared to be the edge of a tooth. Turns out, it was a fossilized tooth of belonging to a prehistoric shark that lived 22 to 33 million years ago. The boy's father told Fox News he plans on keeping the rare find for himself for now.
