A man in Pombal, Portugal has discovered a skeleton of a massive dinosaur in his backyard.
After discovering pieces of fossilized bones while doing construction on his backyard in 2017, the owner contacted a research team which soon began excavating. Then earlier this month, paleontologists from Spain and Portugal unearthed what they believe is one of the largest sauropod dinosaurs to ever be found in Europe, measuring 39 feet tall and 82 feet long.
The dinosaur species, plant-eating, four-legged dinosaurs with long necks and tails, roamed the Earth 160 to 100 million years ago. Important elements of the skeleton, including the vertebrae and ribs, have been collected from the site, and researchers believe other parts will also be found. Source: CBS News
