Not every company is strictly out to make money, and now “People” magazine is recognizing ones that go out of their way to show they care.
- The magazine has just revealed their annual “Companies That Care” list, singling out 100 companies that have demonstrated respect, compassion, and concern for their communities, their employees, and the environment.
- According to the mag, these companies, "go above and beyond to honor their employees, uplift their communities and make the world a better place.”
- Topping the list this year is Target Corporation, which gets high marks for investing in their employees. In fact, this year they’ve invested about $300 million more in pay and benefits, with starting salaries now ranging from $15 to $24 an hour, with enhanced benefits.
- They also promote diversity, by increasing promotions for people of color by 62%, and increasing women in leadership by 16%.
