It started when Adele Larson wore a classic satin gown to her wedding to Roy Stoneberg on Sept. 16, 1950. She bought the dress at Marshall Field's department store in downtown Chicago for $100.75. Since then, seven other family members have worn the dress. The last time was in 2013. The dress comes with a memory book containing the story of its journey. It may have been altered here and there, but Larson’s family is continuing to pass it down.
