Corvette owner Scot Burner (his actual name) now holds the Guinness World Record for the fastest time driving a mile in reverse. Burner set the record at the National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park track in Bowling Green, Kentucky, hitting 54 mph in reverse while doing it.
He completed the course in one minute and 15.18 seconds at an average speed of 48 mph, and the engine was smoking when he crossed the finish line. The previous record was one minute 37.02 seconds, set in the UK in 2012 in a Nissan Leaf.
