Webb Telescope Sends Back First Neptune Images In Decades

The James Webb Space Telescope is sending back the first close-up images of Neptune in over 30 years. Yesterday, the infrared telescope sent back photos of the distant planet that give a clear view of Neptune's rings and the huge dark spot on the planet's icy atmosphere. The new images also show seven of Neptune's 14 moons, including the brightest one, Triton. No spacecraft has been close to Neptune since NASA's Voyager 2 flew past it in 1989.
