Having a family meal together may be the key to beating stress. An American Heart Association study found that 91% of parents notice less stress in their family members when they gather around the dinner table together. Another takeaway is that 84% wish family meals happened more often. The average adult eats alone about half the time, according to the poll. Scientists have noted that chronic and continuous stress increases the risk of heart disease and stroke. The poll shows that people also make healthier food choices when dining with family.
