FDA: Oral Amoxicillin Is The Latest Drug To See A Shortage

The FDA is giving the heads up that a heavily prescribed antibiotic for kids is in short supply. Oral amoxicillin is used to treat ear, strep throat, and other infections and it’s facing a shortage. There are other antibiotics that can be used, but for those that need amoxicillin, visiting multiple pharmacies may be the only way to get it. You can keep track of this and other medicine shortages on the agency’s shortage website. Several companies manufacture oral amoxicillin, but they are all seeing shortages.
