These Holiday Items Are Dangerous For Your Pet

While the holidays are a time for gathering, food, and fun, there are some things to be aware of when it comes to your pet. Now all things holiday are safe. Here are some things to keep an eye on when it comes to Fluffy or Fido:

  • Christmas trees. If they get knocked over, your furbaby could get hurt. And if they ingest pine needle it could make them sick
  • Ornaments. Unless you have the shatterproof kind, put them high on the tree. The shattering glass could cut your cat
  • Electric Chords and string lights. Not only could there be a “Christmas Vacation” moment if your pet chews through them, but there’s also a strangulation risk. Tape and conceal them as best you can
  • Tinsel. Most pet parents know to keep away from this choking hazard
  • Wrapping material. Make sure you keep your pet away when wrapping and then immediately store them done
  • Holiday house plants. Poinsettias, cedar and pine are no-nos.
