“The View” remembered former cohost Barbara Walters during the latest episode of the ABC talk show yesterday. Joy Behar spoke about Walters' impact on the industry and her ability to defy sexism and ageism, while Whoopi Goldberg praised Walters for the way she uplifted fellow journalists, and Sunny Hostin shared a story about Walters offering her valuable advice that helped her career.
“If not for her, I don’t know where most of us would be,” Goldberg reminisced about the late Walters. Behar chimed in as well, saying, “She was the original role model for everybody else, so we have to give the women a lot of credit.”
The late journalist passed away on Friday, December 30 at the age of 93. Her publicist shared that she "passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones" and "lived her life with no regrets." She is remembered as a trailblazer for female journalists and women.
