As the New Year gets underway, many folks are looking for a fresh start and for a lot of them, that includes a different job. Nearly half (46%) of U.S. workers are planning to look for a new job in the next six months, according to new research from human resource consulting firm Robert Half.
The biggest reason they want to make a change? Low pay. The survey of 25-hundred professionals reveals that Gen Z, working parents and those who have been with their company for less than five years are the most likely to switch jobs in early 2023.
A new report from Payscale looks into the jobs that will see the highest quit rates this year. They analyzed the hiring and quit rates for dozens of occupations from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and asked more than 80-thousand workers about their plans to look for a new job. The finds that those in customer service, human resources and technology fields are most likely to resign soon.
The top 10 jobs workers are most likely to quit in 2023, based on Payscale’s research:
- Senior customer service representative
- Software development manager
- Creative director
- Production manager for manufacturing
- Public relations specialist
- Medical coding specialist
- Human resources assistant
