Sheetz Does Away With Smile Policy

Gas and convenience store chain Sheetz has eliminated a controversial employment policy. The "smile" policy, said that applicants with obvious missing, broken, or badly discolored teeth, unrelated to a disability, were not qualified for employment with Sheetz. A spokesperson for the chain says that, through employee feedback, they've learned that the policy is not aligned with their values and so it is being discontinued and has been scrubbed from the employee handbook. Sheetz operates more than 650 stores in six states including Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.
