Darius Rucker has just dropped his own version of Rihanna's "Lift Me Up," which was the Oscar-nominated theme song for the film "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever." The release just so happens to occur the same time as Rihanna's performance at the Super Bowl halftime show!
“I’ve been a huge fan of comics since I was a kid, and…I was so moved by this song playing at the end of the movie and I felt inspired to try my hand at singing it,” Rucker shared in a statement.
Rucker says he hopes his fans “love this version” as much as he does. This latest releases comes as Rucker is finishing up his next album "Carolyn's Boy,” due out later this year. Check out the song to the right!
