Police in Hanover, Ontario have ended their investigation into a potential child predator. The “suspicious older male” reportedly pulled over and walked up to a young boy a box of candy; the student said no, and the man insisted, telling the boy he could give it to his mother.
The incident raised some obvious alarm bells, but police say they found the man and figured out his intentions “were genuine and pure.” They say the man was participating in “Random Acts of Kindness Day,” and handed out candy to people of all ages that day.
No matter what day it is, a stranger pulling over and offering a child some candy is never a good idea.
