Morgan Wallen lost no momentum as a result of his doctor-recommended six-week hiatus for vocal rest in May and June. The country star is soon simply going to be referred to as "star" - as he is owning all of music in 2023.
Wallen's "Last Night" is now the first song in history to amass 1 billion on-demand audio streams in the United States in a single calendar year, so far. The song currently sits at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for its 13th non-consecutive week, marking the longest running #1 on the Hot 100 chart this year. But wait - there's more!
"Last Night" continues to dominate the charts, claiming the top spot on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart for an amazing 22 weeks. This ties it for the sixth-longest reign since 1958. The record for the longest-running #1 on the chart is held by Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line's "Meant To Be," which spent 50 weeks in the top position from 2017 to 2018. The song has also become the No. 1 best-selling song of the year by US units, surpassing Miley Cyrus' "Flowers."
Wallen's success doesn’t stop there. His album "One Thing At A Time" has claimed the record for the most weeks at #1 on the country album chart in over three decades. Note: the year is only half over. Plenty of time for Morgan to crush more records.
