It can be stressful to travel anytime, but during the hectic holiday travel season, it can be so much worse. With the holidays just a few months away now, it’s time to make those reservations and a new report reveals the best and worst days to travel for Thanksgiving.
Travel company the Vacationer recommends booking tickets as early as possible for the best prices and availability. They advise booking domestic flights at least one to three months in advance, so it’s time to commit to Thanksgiving travel plans. As for which days to travel on, the report finds:
- The worst days to be traveling during Thanksgiving week are the day before Thanksgiving, Wednesday, November 22nd and Sunday, November 26th.
- The best days to depart are Monday, November 20th and Tuesday, November 21st, as well as Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23rd.
- Black Friday, November 24th is one of the ideal days to return home, along with Monday, November 27th and Tuesday the 28th.
