Tim McGraw embraced “the spirit of being thankful,” as he surprised fans with a 6-track EP at midnight ET on Tuesday (November 21). The award-winning country icon debuted Poet’s Resumé after briefly teasing the collection on Instagram hours earlier.

McGraw scored another No. 1 hit with the title track of his latest full-length album, “Standing Room Only,” a sentimental single McGraw described as “so positive and life affirming… it caught my ear the first time I heard it. I hope it can be a reminder to live a life filled with gratitude, and not take things for granted.” The heartfelt ballad became McGraw’s 46th No. 1 single in his decades-long career.

“I can’t believe it, I’m overwhelmed with gratitude!” McGraw expressed in an Instagram caption on Monday (November 20). In the same post, he teased a “big surprise” and reveals the Poet’s Resumé cover art.

“In the spirit of being thankful, I’m so grateful for all of you and the ways you have supported me, my family and my music thru the years,” McGraw said in a note as Poet’s Resumé made its debut overnight. “Here’s a little surprise drop of a few songs you’ve never heard. Enjoy!”

McGraw released Standing Room Only in August. The 13-track album — which also includes “Remember Me Well,” “Hey Whiskey,” “Hold On To It” and other highlights — is a collection that the country hitmaker said will offer a message “that there is a purpose that we’re here. There is a reason that we’re here.”

McGraw is set to kick off his nationwide “Standing Room Only Tour” in March, bringing “Country Music Made Me Do It” star Carly Pearce as a special guest. It’s set to kick off in Jacksonville, Florida, with stops in Colorado, Texas, Tennessee, New York, Georgia and other destinations before coming to a close in June in Sacramento, California.
