In China, one unnamed woman was apparently concerned about her expanded workload due to the pregnancy of one of her coworkers. Now, that woman is being accused of “trying to terminate” the pregnancy of that coworker “by poisoning her water to prevent her from taking maternity leave.” Reportedly, the pregnant woman noticed something tasted strange in the water she’d been drinking, so she switched to bottled water. From there, the investigation began. The knocked-up woman set up a video recorder at her desk and caught her coworker pouring a “powder-like substance into her water bottle.” Police are now involved, and a criminal investigation is underway. The mother-and-child-to-be are said to be fine and healthy.
