Fast Food Menu Items With The Most Calories

People love fast food for being quick, convenient and delicious, but it does have its downsides. These days the prices at our favorite chains have climbed so high, 78% of Americans now see fast food as a "luxury." But no matter the cost, fast food isn’t really good for us, in terms of nutrition, and new research reveals which items pack the most calories.

Quartz has determined the fast food menu items with the highest calorie counts, according to the nutrition database Nutritionix.

  1. Burger King’s Bacon King Burger (two beef burgers, with thick-cut smoked bacon, American cheese, ketchup and mayo on a bun) - 1,200 calories
  2. Checkers’ Triple Baconzilla! Burger (three beef patties with four bacon slices, two American cheese slices, melted cheddar, ketchup and mayonnaise on a toasted bun) - 1,210 calories
  3. Dairy Queen’s Peanut Butter Puppy Chow Blizzard - 1,360 calories in a large
  4. Zaxby’s Buffalo Boneless Wings & Things - 1,460 calories per serving
  5. Wendy’s Pretzel Bacon Pub Triple burger - 1,530 calories
  6. Culver’s Berry Happy Birthday Concrete Mixer (a frozen custard dessert) - 1,570 calories in a large
  7. Sonic Drive-In’s Oreo and Reese’s Peanut Butter Shake - 1,720 calories in a large
  8. Shake Shack’s Double Down Fries (fries topped with cheese sauce, cherry peppers and bacon) - 1,910 calories per serving
