Energy Drinks May Make Your Hair Fall Out

Energy drinks, loaded with caffeine, sugar, and additives, aren’t just unhealthy…they may make you bald. Turkish hair transplant surgeon Dr. Abdulaziz Balwi warns his patients to avoid these drinks, as going too hard with these ex can negatively impact hair growth despite the extra vitamins and minerals. Turns out that high doses of caffeine and selenium, found in many energy drinks, can be toxic and trigger conditions like alopecia areata.

What’s more, the high sugar content in these drinks can lead to obesity and diabetes, which are both linked to hair loss. While some experts argue that the evidence connecting energy drinks to hair loss is weak, they agree that moderation is key to avoiding potential health risks.
