A State Department briefing was interrupted by an odd visitor yesterday. Shortly after beginning his remarks, spokesperson Matthew Miller noticed a cockroach crawling on the wall near a reporter’s head. He added with a laugh "sorry to be distracted, but that's a rather large one." A little over a minute later, a slapping sound was heard off-screen, followed by clapping. Miller said "solves that problem," before continuing with the briefing. RIP cockroach.
