2024 Is Set To Be The Hottest Year On Record For Las Vegas

Las Vegas is on pace for its hottest year in recorded history. The months of June and July set new records for the highest average daily temperature by several degrees. The National Weather Service says August is on track to do the same. As of Monday, Las Vegas has had 68 days at 105 degrees or higher so far this year. The previous record of 61 days was set in 1940. The number of days at 110 degrees or higher is at 35, breaking the record of 29 days, also set in 1940. The Clark County Coroner's Office has confirmed 123 heat-related deaths so far this year.
