Americans Fantasize About Going On An Adventure 4 Times A Day

Do you need a little excitement in your life? A quarter (27%) of Americans feel like they’ve fallen into a routine rut and their life is a bit boring these days, a new survey finds.

August is American Adventures Month and in honor of that, a poll asks 2-thousand U.S. adults how they feel about adventures and what the perfect one would be like.

  • According to 83% of respondents, you can always be adventurous, no matter how old you are.
  • Over a third (36%) say they’ve become more adventurous with age, but only 10% feel they could be adventurous in their life now on any given day.
  • That may be why the average American fantasizes about going on an adventure four times every day.
  • More than 60% say they’re in “desperate need” of an adventure this year, partly because of dealing with daily emotions like anxiety (38%), fatigue (35%) and frustration (30%).
  • Things that inspire Americans to get adventurous include a dose of warm weather (34%), seeing the same, mundane surroundings every day (33%) and seeing friends and family take trips (33%).
  • So, what does an adventure look like? It can be anything outside their daily routine and experience (46%) that makes them appreciate life more (30%).
  • The perfect age to go on an adventure is 42, and the perfect amount of time for an adventure is six days.
  • People would be willing to travel just over 27-hundred miles for an adventure to escape the daily grind.
  • The top adventurous destinations Americans want to visit are Hawaii (18%), California (16%), Florida (14%), Alaska (13%) and Colorado (11%).
