Cigarette Smoking Among U.S. Adults Falls To All-Time Low

According to a new Gallup poll, cigarette smoking among American adults has reached a record low, with only 11% reporting to have smoked recently. The decline is even bigger among younger generations, with just 6% of those under 30 smoking. But e-cigarette use is more common with the younger crowd, with 18% of those aged 18 to 29 admitting to vaping compared to just 1% of those 65 and older. The drop in smoking rates is likely influenced by cultural shifts and widespread awareness of the health risks associated with tobacco use.
