Study Shows That Our Sense Of Smell Is Much Faster Than We Thought

It turns out that the human nose is underestimated. A new study shows the nose may be even more powerful than previously thought. Published in the journal Nature Human Behavior, Chinese researchers found that the nose can identify odors within a fraction of a second. That's at a level of sensitivity similar to how our brains perceive color. This goes against previous assumptions that smell is a slower sense in humans. It’s actually faster than the blink of an eye.
