It turns out, there are a few classic tracks that play at receptions all the time and new research reveals which ones they are.
- A new study from Breezit, an online wedding vendor search tool, names the most popular wedding songs of all time.
- They analyzed 2-thousand wedding-themed playlists on Spotify, with a total of 49,091 songs.
- The playlists were chosen based on keywords, like “wedding dance floor,” “wedding party,” “walking down the aisle” and “first dance songs.”
- “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” by Whitney Houston appears in 484 of those playlists, making it the most popular wedding song of all time.
- The 1987 hit is included in 24.2% of the playlists.
- ABBA’s “Dancing Queen” comes in second, appearing in 394 of the playlists (19.7%).
