Thanksgiving Foods To Keep Away From Pets

When you’re planning Thanksgiving dinner, keep your pup or kitty off the guest list. Annie-Mae Levy, a professional dog trainer from Woofz, is reminding pet parents that there are many foods that you’ll break out for the holiday that are toxic to your fur babies. Here are a few:

  • Anything that has spices or herbs on it
  • Turkey bones. That’s a quick trip to the emergency vet
  • Stuffing. It contains onions, garlic, and herbs… all of which can be life threatening
  • Casseroles (including green bean casserole). They have a lot of fat and dairy plus mushrooms or more
  • Cranberry sauce. The sugar content and possible raisins make this toxic
  • Desserts. These should be a HUGE no. They contain chocolate, xylitol (a sugar substitute), and other common ingredients that are highly toxic to pets

Plain cooked turkey with no spices is fine.
