Easter Games To Play After Your Easter Egg Hunt

Easter is right around the corner and if you’re having a family gathering, there are some ways to make it more fun. Here are a few games to add to your event courtesy of “Real Simple”:

  • Bunny Tag. A quick game of tag is fun for the whole family and will get everyone moving, too. Play outdoors, just like the classic tag game, but with an Easter twist. Instead of walking or running, every player must hop. Those who don't hop are automatically deemed "it."
  • Easter Freeze Dance. Everyone knows the rules of freeze dance. When the music plays, shake it up! When the music stops- freeze! For this easter version, rely on a few fun holiday classics like the Bunny Hop.
  • Easter Egg Dares. Write fun or goofy family-friendly activities on slips of paper and put them inside Easter eggs (think "hop like a bunny" or "eat a Peep"). Each player takes a turn grabbing an egg and doing what the activity says. Make it more fun by using a spinner to randomize who grabs an egg.
  • Guess the Number of Jelly Beans (or Candy Eggs). Play a guessing game. Have every family member bring a container full of jelly beans to the gathering. (They should have counted and written out the correct number of jelly beans before arriving.) Each person guesses the number of jelly beans in each container—except their own. Once all the guesses are in, sit around and call out the numbers. Whoever is closest wins the container and candy.
  • Peeps Tic Tac Toe. Tic Tac Toe is a classic game beloved by all, but you know what makes it just a little bit sweeter? Marshmallows! Replace the regular old x's and o's with Peeps- some yellow chicks and pink bunnies. Whoever reaches three in a row first gets to keep their winning trio and snack on them later.
  • Chocolate Bunny Bowling. Make your own bowling pins using store-bought chocolate bunnies, suggests exercise physiologist Len Saunders. Line up the "pins" and roll a tennis ball to see who can knock down the most. At the end of the game, each child can take home a chocolate bunny as their prize.
  • Bunny Hop. Have the kids decorate plain white pillowcases with their favorite Easter decor and designs. Provide stamps, construction paper, and templates to help them get creative. Once finished decorating, line up the kids in a row with their feet in the cases for a hopping race to the finish line.
