Pranksters Hang Their Own Painting In The Louvre...Next To The Mona Lisa

It’s safe to say that security at the Louvre still needs some work after the recent heist. Now, two pranksters have managed to successfully sneak their own painting into the Louvre museum in Paris, placing it in the same room as the Mona Lisa. This follows a major heist last month where thieves stole jewelry worth about $88 million from the museum in around four minutes.

After that robbery, old security reports came to light showing the Louvre had serious problems for years. A 2014 report revealed the museum's video surveillance system used "LOUVRE" as its password, and other systems used equally simple passwords. The museum was also running outdated computer operating systems like Windows 2000. Fun detail: the pranksters got their painting past metal detectors by building the frame out of Legos.
