NJ Condo Using DNA Tests On Dog Poop To Catch People Who Don't Pick It Up

A luxury condo in New Jersey is using DNA testing to catch dog owners who don't clean up after their pets. Hudson Harbor in Edgewater has teamed up with a company called PooPrints to run the program. Every dog living at the waterfront complex will have a cheek swab taken so its DNA can be kept on file. When waste is found on the property, it gets sent to a lab and matched to the dog responsible. Studio apartments at the building start at $2,700 a month, so management is serious about keeping the grounds clean. The best part? They’re charging residents $200 each for the swab test, which is barely below the $250 fine for leaving poop behind.
