The Best Costco Locations In The U.S., According To Shoppers

All Costco stores are great, but new research suggests some are a little bit better than others. Members don’t just love stocking up on budget-friendly staples and the joy of tasting the free samples of the day, they also get a small thrill from discovering new seasonal items, and of course, saving money. But Costco loyalists know that not every location of the chain feels the same, and a new survey reveals which ones are the best.

FinanceBuzz polled more than 6-thousand Costco customers to find out which of the bulk retailer’s stores offer the best shopping experience.

  • They rated their primary warehouse in six categories: cleanliness, friendliness, stock, quality of samples, quantity of samples and parking lot quality and availability.
  • The survey reveals the 10 states that have superior Costco stores, as well as five specific locations that are considered the best in the country as they have the highest total scores.
  • It turns out, the top thing customers complain about isn’t inside a store, it’s parking availability.
  • Samples are also important to customer satisfaction, as lower-rated stores overall were those with “the biggest challenges with the quality and quantity of their samples.”
  • So, which locations have the happiest shoppers? A pair of Costco warehouses tie for best location in the country. Stores in Meridian, Idaho and Indianapolis, Indiana (Fortune Park) both earned a rating of 55.2 out of 60.
