There’s good news for folks along the Eastern seaboard. A below-normal 2026 Atlantic Hurricane Season has been forecast by the NOAA. The agency released the outlook yesterday and predicts between eight-and-14 named storms during the season, which officially runs from June 1st through November 30th. Forecasters say three-to-six of those storms could strengthen into hurricanes. Officials also expect one-to-three major hurricanes during the period. The outlook comes as the first tropical wave of the 2025 hurricane season recently moved off the coast of Africa. An El Nino is expected to be the driving force behind the below average activity.
