Ashton Kutcher isn't just an actor, he's an activist and the co-founder of Thorn, a group that uses technology to fight the sexual exploitation of children. Kutcher recently headlined a Senate hearing about modern slavery, saying all people should have the "right to pursue happiness."
In a highly emotional testimony, Kutcher's voice shook as he described the frustration of being unable to assist the Department of Homeland Security locate a girl who was shown being raped on the dark Web. “It devastated me,” he said, “because every night, I had to go to sleep every night and think about that little girl who was still being abused, and the fact that if I built the right thing, we could save her. So that’s what we did."
Kutcher assured all that he takes his work seriously, despite the naysayers. “This is the part where Internet trolls start telling me to stick to my day job,” he said. Outside of being a father of two, he added that considers his role at Thorn to be his real calling.
