An Oklahoma couple and three grandparents stand accused in a child neglect case that is among the worst that local law enforcement officials have ever seen.
Aislyn Miller, 24, and Kevin Fowler, 25, were arrested in December on five counts each of child neglect, reports the Daily Mail.
The parents were taken into custody after their 9-month-old twins were hospitalized for severe malnourishment. The twin girls together reportedly had the weight of only one healthy baby, and also were afflicted with severe diaper rash and infected wounds.
Owasso police were first alerted by the city's urgent care center, which reported suspected abuse based on the children's condition.
