Indiana farmer Jonathan Lawler had a revelation, thanks to one of his sons. His son came home from school one day and told him that a classmate was hungry. Jonathan was confused. He knew the area was filled with plenty of farms, yet there were students going hungry? Jonathan knew he had to do something.
The area the school was in is known as a food desert. That's an area where mostly unhealthy foods are sold, but grocery stores with quality foods are too far away for people without transportation. Jonathan decided to change the game. He turned his farm from a for-profit farm to a faith-based food aid organization.
