Kristian Helton,19, of Lincoln, Illinois, decided to propose to his girlfriend, Karsyn Long, 16 using a box of McNuggets from McDonald's. Mr. Helton knew his girlfriend's love of the fast food chain, so he decided to place the ring in a 20-piece box of nuggets.
Ms. Long didn't just get nuggets, she also got carats. The ring was inserted into the largest McNugget, in the middle of the box with the words "Will You McMarry Me??" written on the inside lid.
"Her love for chicken nuggets, I'm sure, is more than she loves me," Helton told NBC affiliate WAND.
He added, "She has devoted her life to chicken nuggets, so that had to be part of the engagement. I mean, it was just given."
