This 91-Year Old Man Is Attending His 18th Inauguration!

A 91-year-old New Jersey man is in Washington, DC today attending his 18th presidential inauguration.

Harold Smick, Junior of Salem says while he didn't vote for Donald Trump, he wouldn't have missed his swearing-in for the world.

Smick attended his first inauguration in 1941 when he was just 15-years-old and hasn't missed one since. FDR was being sworn in that day and Smick says he swiped a piece of fabric from the stage as a memento. He says he might try to do it again today, even in the face of all that presidential security.

Each year he brings a bit of history home with him from photos and programs to tickets, buttons and even a Barack Obama candy bar he purchased in 2013.

As for how Smick feels about the man he didn’t vote for, he reminds "He should be given a chance. He may stumble, but every other president has stumbled sometime in their term," Smick said. "We've all done that. The more I think about it, the more I pray that he's going to be very successful. I'm rooting for him. He's an unusual person."
