Tim McGraw shared his reaction to rising country artist Abby Anderson’s spin on one of McGraw’s early 2000s ballads, offering a fresh perspective from a woman’s point of view.

Anderson, 27, played her version of “Red Ragtop” for McGraw, who released the song in 2002. The Standing Room Only star said the first time he heard it, “it almost brought tears to my eyes because to hear that song from a female perspective was really interesting and really moving. It was just incredible. So I can’t wait to see what she does live.”

Anderson, a Texas-born singer-songwriter who was part of CMT’s Next Women of Country Class of 2018 (alongside Ashley McBryde, Hannah Ellis and others), is joining McGraw’s tour lineup for the first time on Thursday evening (April 25) in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee. McGraw kicked off his headlining “Standing Room Only Tour” earlier this year, bringing special guest Carly Pearce and other artists on select dates, including Anderson. Others in the lineup include The Woods, Restless Road, Track45, Randall King, Landon Parker, Heartwreckers, Peytan Porter and Timothy Wayne.
