There’s a huge backlog of passport requests, so if you need one you better apply now. The State Department is processing 500-thousand passports a week and that’s causing major delays in getting it back. Expect at least a 13 week delay in getting your passport. The good news is, the department is working on a new online portal so you can apply online. They’re clearing bugs, so right now there are no more new applications being accepted online.
