It’s SPAM Restaurant Month & These Are The Wildest Dishes Being Served

You might not have known, but August is SPAM®️ Restaurant Month, and restaurants across the country are getting creative in the kitchen using the meat product.  Here are some of the innovative dishes they’re bringing to the table with the iconic brand.

  • SPAM Mai Tai - The Duck Inn in Chicago takes bacon-infused liquors to a new level by swapping the crispy strips of pork belly for SPAM.  This special cocktail is made with two types of the flavor-enhanced rum.
  • Musubi Tacos - Washington, D.C.’s PhoWheels is trading the traditional tortilla for a toasted Malaysian flatbread taco filled with SPAM, Chinese sausage, rice, roasted nori, wasabi sesame seeds, Kewpie mayo, and a soy glaze.
  • SPAM and Crispy Rice Tots - Crispy pieces of SPAM served with tots made from rice and skewers to stab a few pieces of each, along with condiments like a runny egg, unagi sauce, and an avocado cilantro cream are on the menu at Denver’s Poke House.
  • SPAM Crusted Chipotle Mac N Cheese Balls - Try mac and cheese crusted in SPAM and deep fried to perfection and served with an oven dried tomato relish at Belly Bombz in Artesia, California.
  • El Spamale - At the Tamale Co in Orlando, they’re cooking up grilled SPAM-stuffed tamales cooked in banana leaves and smothered in a house piloncillo glaze.
  • Spaffle - Like the name implies, it’s a waffle made out of SPAM, with some shredded potato, kimchi, and green onions and topped with spicy mayo drizzle, available at San Mateo, California’s Pokeatery.
