The FDA has issued recalls for nine brands of dry dog food, according to this report.
The reason for the recall -- the FDA received complaints that dogs eating various dog food brands, including some flavors from Old Glory, suffered vitamin D toxicity. Symptoms of this condition include vomiting, lethargy, loss of appetite, drooling, increased thirst, or urination, or seizures.
If your pet is displaying these symptoms and has eaten from the brands listed below, do not wait to take them in. PetMD says saving a dog’s life after vitamin D toxicity “requires immediate treatment.”
