Another day, another ridiculous bride story. The latest comes from a bride who thinks one of her bridesmaids owes her $30,000 for a new wedding because she upstaged the bride.
A woman going by the handle “ignoredbride” on Reddit posted that she’s furious with her bridesmaid 'Anna' who took the spotlight off her on her big day. How'd she do it? Apparently, she was recently married, pregnant . . . and has a really hot husband. The woman explains that while she'd planned her wedding for three years, bridesmaid Anna turned up knocked up . . . and tied her own knot a few months before our beleaguered bride.
At 'ignoredbride's' big day . . . she says that Anna and her husband became the center of attention. “She was hugely pregnant, and didn't refrain from showing it off,” the bride writes. “She also has a vibrant personality and has a way of eclipsing everyone around her. Her husband is also very tall and incredibly attractive, which drew a lot of attention.”
- The bride goes on to say that everyone at the wedding couldn’t stop talking about Anna and her husband. “I ended up leaving midway through the reception in tears, and never attended the next morning's brunch,” the bride shares. “I can't even look at the pictures without crying and desperately want a do over.”
- The bride, who insists she wasn’t a “bridezilla,” said she felt like the event was Anna’s wedding, and then noted, “I honestly feel like Anna owes me a wedding,” asking "AITA for thinking that my bridesmaid owes me for upstaging and ruining my 30k+ wedding??
- Of course, the Internet has some serious thoughts on this . . . with over 850 replying, with many thinking the answer is "YES."
- "’I am not a bridezilla’ is what every bridezilla says always,” one person noted, while another added, “It's not Anna's fault she decided to live her life . . . ”
- Meanwhile, another noted, “It's like she resents Anna for not being frozen in time from the moment of OP's engagement to her wedding three years later,” while one person noted, “this whole post reeks of jealousy and insecurity.”
