Looks Like We’re In For A Cold Winter

With a few weeks of warm weather still ahead of us, the last thing anyone wants to think about is the cold, but it seems folks better start bracing for just that in the coming months. The 2020 Farmer’s Almanac is predicting a “Polar Coaster Winter," with the upcoming season described as “freezing, frigid and frosty,” particularly east of the Rockies all the way to the Appalachians. As for when we can expect the cold, the most frigid outbreaks are predicted to be in January in the Northern Plains, where temps can drop to negative-40 and into the Great Lakes. And there will definitely be lots of snow, with above normal precipitation expected in the eastern third of the country.
