Time to facepalm!
A Canadian grocery store employee is no longer working at a local market due to a viral video. A shopper at a Toronto FreshCo says they began filming a worker after they were spotted wiping down shopping baskets using their saliva.
The video, reportedly showing that person who is older, spitting into a towel and wiping down carts, was taken to a manager. However, days later, the parent company Sobeys reached out after the shopper was only told to file a complaint.
The company says the individual was from a third party service, but they have launched a full internal investigation. The shopper believes that the incident isn't being taken as seriously as it should be.
