We told you about a break-in at the San Francisco Zoo where a 21-year-old Lemur named Maki was kidnapped. Well, the aging animal was found and returned to his habitat all thanks to a five-year-old boy who was on his way home from preschool.
James Trinh spotted Maki about 5 miles from the zoo. He exclaimed: “There’s a lemur! There’s a lemur!” School officials thought it might be just a raccoon. Then Maki darted from the parking lot to the playground and hid in a miniature playhouse. That's when the school called Zoo officials.
Everybody watched as the caretakers were able to retrieve Maki into a cage. Officials from the Zoo couldn't be happier and said that James saved Maki's life. In return, the Zoo has given James a lifetime pass to the park. James loves animals and he couldn't be happier.
Police booked 30-year-old Cory McGilloway on charges of burglary, grand theft of an animal, looting, and vandalism.
