Oakland International Airport is now selling COVID-19 test kits out of vending machines, making it the first airport in the nation to do so.
Airport spokesman Roberto Bernardo says the do-it-yourself test kits are geared towards those returning to Oakland rather than those flying out of the airport not far from downtown San Francisco. He says with travelers already going through so much right now, they wanted to provide another option for easy testing.
The kits are available at contactless kiosks set up in every terminal. They cost about $150 each and travelers will need to collect and mail in a saliva sample. After that, results are expected on an app on your phone within 48 hours.
