Take a homeowner’s association, throw in a “Karen,” and you have the recipe for problems. Someone identified only as “Dave” has gone viral with a plastic-covered note he posted to a tree in his yard after someone complained to their HOA about the treehouse he had built with his sons during the pandemic. In part, the note reads “Please enjoy your stroll free from the sound of my children’s play and laughter.” Just to drive his point home, he added “They are safely back inside now, watching television, I’m sure.”
What a jerk, right? Of course, we know there are plenty of people who want everything to be the way they want it, even when it’s someone else’s property. The Reddit thread has received a lot of attention, including sympathy for Dave and many people sharing their own HOA horror stories.
