A home under construction in Richmond, Virginia will make history.
Work is underway in South Richmond on what will be Virginia's first 3D-printed home. The 3D printer is making the outside walls for the 16-hundred square-foot home. Construction is set to be done in October, and those involved with the project recently said building a home this way could lead to a drop in home prices.
The Virginia Center for Housing Research at Virginia Tech designed the home and Iowa-based construction company Alquist is printing the parts. The project was funded by grants.
