Amazon is rolling out a new feature that will give shoppers an in-store pick up option.
“Local Selling” allows local businesses, who already sell products on Amazon, to give customers the option to pick up purchases in store instead of waiting for them to arrive in the mail. The e-commerce giant is hoping this new feature will keep shoppers on their site instead of buying directly from the store's website.
The consumer will be able to choose an in-store pickup option on eligible items and can go get it the same day. The local delivery option leaves the shipping up to the retailer instead of Amazon, so the company uses their own vehicles to deliver the product locally in one to two days.
The “store pickup” tab for eligible items will be appearing on Amazon soon.
