Gator Snarls Traffic On Florida Interstate

A 12-foot alligator is being blamed for a traffic jam on Florida's Alligator Alley.

I-75 from Fort Lauderdale to Naples is one of only two highways to cross the Everglades, and is fenced off to keep the roughly one-million alligators that live in the swamp from blocking traffic.

On Monday, a huge 12-foot gator broke through the fence and caused an issue as Florida Highway Patrol officers tried to corral it. A travel advisory from the Highway Patrol told motorists to please drive cautiously on Alligator Alley, and watch out for the gator.
